Thinking about adding the Commercial qualification to your permit? Now’s the time!
Starting July 1, 2026, the Collège de l’immobilier du Québec will implement a new structure for the Commercial program, aligned with updated OACIQ requirements.
👉 Those who complete the current program before this date won’t need to redo the full commercial module.
The new version will focus on financial analysis, taxation, and commercial documentation, with more flexible learning formats to fit your schedule.

April 30, 2026 — a date you can’t afford to miss!
All brokers must complete 12 CEUs, including 6 mandatory courses from the OACIQ, by April 30, 2026.
At least one course must be taken in person, and most sessions are already filling up fast.
After this deadline, your license will be suspended until your file is up to date — meaning you cannot practice real estate during that period.
👉 Book your session now to avoid any unpleasant surprises!
🗓️ And remember: this is only the first year of the 2025-2027 cycle — you’ll have more courses to complete before April 30, 2027 to keep your license active.

Bill 16 – Transparency in Co-ownership
The DRCOP was a recommended form by the OACIQ but not mandatory.
Under Bill 16, the syndicate of co-ownership (or its manager) must now provide an official attestation confirming the maintenance logbook, the reserve fund study (or confirmation of its absence), the actual amount in the reserve fund, and the financial data.
The DRCOP remains a helpful tool, but only the syndicate’s attestation makes the process official and compliant with Bill 16.
👩💼 Seller’s broker: must request the attestation, share all documents with the buyer, and keep proof of every step.
👨💼 Buyer’s broker: must verify the documents, explain their content, and recommend protective clauses if needed.
